Problem

When our clients Melissa and Roger moved from L.A. to Albuquerque after the pandemic, the home they purchased didn’t fully match their personal aesthetic. Never having worked with an interior designer before, they approached The Vibe Design Co. to help them transform their existing house into a home that felt fully integrated with their lives and style. As professionals both working from home, they envisioned living spaces that felt open, clean, and suitable for both work and play while feeling modern and unique.

Process

To truly make this home theirs, our team touched every surface to enhance the house’s original details while still creating a custom sanctuary for its new residents–including adding a one-of-a-kind mural on the back patio by a local Albuquerque artist. Roger loves to cook, and wanted the kitchen to feel clean and open; working with a local vendor, we added custom open shelves on white walls for a light, airy feel that keeps the space modern but grounded with warm, natural elements. Both bathrooms feature a custom vanity, and use a combination of textures to provide a modern space that feels cozy yet established.

Results

After the project completion, the transformed house is spacious and light, blending cool, familiar west coast tones with classic desert color motifs to welcome this couple to their new life and home in Albuquerque. The infusion of bespoke elements–only possible through the talented group of contributors fully curated by The Vibe–creates a fresh, modern design that remains loyal to the homeowners’ taste and personality. The result: a new and inspiring space that supports work, relaxation, and entertainment perfectly suited for its new residents.
