The Netherwood Park neighborhood's charm doesn't stop with the grass and rolling hills...this area of town boasts some of Albuquerque's best examples of artistically designed mid-century homes.

My clients, a young family of three, wanted to build upon the mid-century lines created by a local Albuquerque architect by playing with curves, nature-inspired forms and a muted color palette.

To create this vibe, we payed very close attention to the details, textures and lines of every vintage, modern and custom piece that entered the home while looking through an artists lens.

Several walls in the home were treated to a mural installation by local artist James Henry Harper which set the tone for the color palette and the flow of the organic shapes used throughout.

A custom rose-colored mirror was designed by myself and partner Jeremy Holder as the icing on the cake of the formal living area.  The glow from the abundant windows off the mirror is stunning at all times of day.

The busy couple owns a local start-up company and designs products during the day and their 8 year old daughter is a budding artist which gave us a fantastic opportunity to configure the rooms in an unconventional way to best meet their artistic needs.  We converted the downstairs primary bedroom into an office slash creative studio for the whole family to create together.  This quickly became one of my favorite rooms in the house because of its unique function and the custom features that were added.  Butcherblock countertops were paired with locally fabricated metal clamp legs to create plenty of room for work and play. Custom shelving was designed by the Vibe and built by James Henry Harper to showcase the family's art collection and supplies so inspiration would flow easily.
